DIRECTOR - Scott Davis
Scott Davis currently serves as Minister of Music & Administration at First Baptist Church, San Marcos, where he directs choral & instrumental ensembles of all ages for weekly worship services and special musical events throughout the year. Most recently, his Sanctuary Choir premiered a new work at Carnegie Hall in November 2025 where Scott also served as a featured soloist. Scott holds a Bachelor of Music in Church Music and Certificate in Vocal Performance from Southwest Baptist University, a Master of Music in Church Music from Baylor University, and a Master of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. A Kansas City native, Scott loves all things KC—Chiefs, Royals, and BBQ! A foodie at heart, Scott enjoys trying new restaurants and cooking at home. His favorite pastime is catching the next Broadway show coming through town. Scott is elated to be joining with the Wimberley Community Chorus for the first time!
ACCOMPANIST - Karla Cruz
Karla Cruz has been directing middle and high school choirs in Texas for over thirty years, and is currently the choir director at Wimberley United Methodist Church. She is also on the faculty of St. Edwards University, where she teaches piano, musicianship and University Singers. Karla got her music education degree from Southwest Texas State University (now TXST) with an emphasis on piano, which she studied with Dr. Tim Woolsey. She now lives in San Marcos with her husband, guitarist Mark Anthony Cruz. Karla is thrilled to be with the chorus for the 7th season!
